One of the DPF sensors on the front section of the exhaust could quite easily have been damaged or come adrift when the rest of the exhaust was changed. I'm not familiar with that engine but there should be a pressure sensor on either side of the DPF (metal tubes leading to the actual sensors) and some electrical temperature sensors.
Can anyone tell me what exactly triggers an active dpf regeneration to occur? (2008 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI) I've noticed (using forscan) that the dpf is regenerating approx every 100 miles. This seems very excessive especially considering the differential dpf pressure is well within the acceptable range when these regens are kicking off.
The 6.7 Cummins engine features various sensors that play a crucial role in its performance and efficiency. Some key sensor locations include the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) sensors located in the exhaust system, the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor found near the crankshaft, The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor is located on the engine block

here we Diagnose and repair the DPF on this car by cleaning it and replacing the pressure sensor

On a 2008 Ford F-250 XL 6.4L, V8, for example, this DTC is described as, “The test fails when the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor signal value at idle is less than 0.15 kPa (0.022 psi).

I found the sensor that the tube is supposed to go to. I looked on the DPF delete pipe and there was a hose on the corresponding fitting but it was only about an inch and a half long.
This process is called DPF regeneration or “regen” and typically occurs automatically every 250 to 500 miles. The ECM uses a differential pressure sensor (DPS) to measure the effectiveness and capacity of the DPF. Simply speaking, the DPS measures the difference in pressure before and after the DPF.
When the DPF was renewed the Differential Pressure should have been no more than 0.1 at Idle and maybe 2 or 3 when steady cruising at speed. If they were not then maybe the DPF was faulty or the Pressure Sensor was giving a false reading. I have heard stories of aftermarket Sensors giving false readings.
Attach the hoses to the sensor as normal. Now remove the rubber vacuum hose from the top of the EGR valve diaphragm. With the truck running apply slight vacuum to the EGR valve and this will open the EGR valve. When the valve opens you will see the voltage on the top wire of the DPFE sensor change indicating flow.
